A) How do you arrive at your price for the license agreement
In Austria, three material streams are currently mandatory for licensing:
Packaging
All types of packaging materials including plastic, paper, metal and glass.
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)
All electrical and electronic devices.
Batteries
All types of batteries and accumulators. From device and vehicle batteries to industrial batteries.
Tariffs & flat rates for your licensing
The amount of the license fee is based on the currently valid tariff lists and the amount of packaging/disposable plastics, batteries or waste electrical equipment you put into circulation:
To meet your needs, we offer small and large quantity options.

License fees – Quantity reporting according to your reporting group
In the ordering process, you determine the expected license fee based on the quantities entered multiplied by the rate for the category. We classify our customers into different reporting groups depending on the annual license fee. This determines how often you have to report your actual quantities via our portal during the year.
Amount of the expected licence fee Licence fee per year Calculate |
Classification Reporting group* |
---|---|
< 1.500 € | Annual report |
> 1.500 < 20.000 € | Quarterly report |
> 20.000 € | Monthly report |
* The classification is determined depending on the amount of the license fee per year for each area. You can calculate the expected amount using our calculator .

**A sector includes packaging/single-use plastic products or waste electrical and electronic equipment or batteries . Packaging and single-use plastic products are considered a common area.
Here are examples for better understanding
Case 1 :
You only need one area (e.g. packaging) and have determined an annual license fee (calculated from quantity * tariff) of 250€. The annual authorized representative flat rate is therefore 300€.
Case 2 :
You need two areas (e.g. waste electrical equipment and batteries) and have determined the following annual license fees:
- Batteries: 750€ à the proxy flat rate for the first area is 300€ (because the license fee is less than 1.500€)
- EAG: 2.000€ à the agent flat rate for the second area is 400€ (because the license fee is between 1.500€ and 20.000€)
The total fee for the authorization will therefore cost you 700€ .
Case 3 :
You need all areas (e.g. VP, waste electrical equipment and batteries) and have determined the following annual license fees:
- Packaging: 250€ à the proxy flat rate for the first area is 300€ (because the license fee is less than 1.500€)
- Batteries: 750€ à the proxy flat rate for the first area is 200€ (because the license fee is less than 1.500€)
- Waste electrical equipment: 2.000€ à the agent flat rate for the second area is 350€ (because the license fee is between 1.500€ and 20.000€)
The total fee for the authorization will therefore cost you 850€ .
Because the environment is important to us and is in our DNA!
With the Interzero Climate Pro tariff, our customers can offset the CO2 footprint generated during packaging recycling. Different greenhouse gas emissions are generated during the transport, sorting, and recycling of collected packaging waste. The resulting emissions are converted into CO2 equivalents, a measure used to standardize the climate impact of different greenhouse gases.
Our cooperation with Climate Austria
The resulting emissions are offset through climate protection measures. In this area, Interzero collaborates with Climate Austria, a partner with many years of experience in climate protection projects. Climate Austria is a project of KPC (Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH) and supports high-quality climate protection projects at the national and international level.
The “Climate Austria” initiative was launched in 2008 as a collaboration between the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Austrian Airlines, Vienna Airport, and KPC. By choosing the Interzero Climate Pro tariff, customers are making an important contribution to climate protection and the UN’s climate goals (“SDGs”).
Through our partner Climate Austria, Climate Pro customers support carefully reviewed national and international projects. Further information on the individual projects is available on the Climate Austria website:

What has been achieved so far?
To date, over 200 tons of CO2 have been offset through voluntary support of climate protection projects. In addition to offsetting, we at Interzero aim to implement further measures to reduce and avoid CO2 emissions. The “resources SAVED by recycling” study shows that this can return up to 1.8 million tons of recyclable materials to the cycle each year, saving 12.5 million tons of primary resources.
Interzero has set itself the goal of responsibly managing the CO2 emissions that cannot yet be avoided in the recycling process. Therefore, offsetting will be expanded to include more and more customers and orders.
